Today’s story

Micah announces judgment against injustice, corrupt leadership, and false security, yet looks ahead to the mountain of the Lord and a future reign of peace.

The Lamb opens the seals. Human conquest, violence, scarcity, death, persecution, and cosmic shaking reveal a world under judgment and longing for final justice.

God’s servants are called to bless the Lord, and the Maker of heaven and earth blesses His people. Proverb Summary Human wisdom reaches its limits before the mystery and greatness of God. Discover Jesus Jesus is the Lamb with authority to open history’s scroll. The same Christ who was slain will judge evil and bring His kingdom of peace. Reflect Does the seriousness of judgment deepen my gratitude for the cross? Fellowship How should knowing that Jesus rules history affect the way Christians face frightening events?

The story in children’s words

Micah was sad because God's people had turned to idols and rich men stole fields and houses from the poor. Leaders took bribes, and false prophets told lies for money. God said their city would become a heap of stones. But Micah also saw a wonderful day coming. Nations would stream to the LORD's mountain to learn His ways. They would beat their swords into farm tools, and no one would learn war anymore. Everyone would sit safely under their own vine and fig tree. Then the Lamb in heaven began to open the scroll's seals, and hard and scary things came on the earth: war, hunger, and a great shaking. Even kings hid in caves from the wrath of the Lamb. Jesus is that Lamb, and the day of peace Micah saw belongs to Him.
