Kids Corner — Day 355
Zechariah 1:1–21 · Revelation 12:1–17 · Psalm 140:1–13 · Proverbs 30:17
Today’s story
Zechariah begins with a simple call: return to the Lord, and He will return to you. God has not forgotten Jerusalem.
Revelation pictures the ancient conflict behind history: the dragon opposes God’s Messiah and His people, but is defeated through the Lamb.
David asks God for protection from violent and scheming people and trusts that the Lord defends the needy. Proverb Summary Contempt for parents is treated seriously; prideful disrespect has consequences. Discover Jesus Jesus is the promised male child who rules the nations. His people conquer not by worldly force but through the Lamb’s victory and faithful testimony. Reflect Where do I need to return to God instead of merely trying harder? Fellowship How does the Lamb’s victory change the way believers fight spiritual battles?
The story in children’s words
God spoke to Zechariah and said, "Come back to me, and I will come back to you." In a night vision Zechariah saw a man on a red horse among the trees, and angels who travel through the whole earth. God promised, "I have come back to Jerusalem with mercy. My house will be built again, and my cities will overflow with good things." He also saw four horns that had scattered God's people, and workers coming to throw those horns down. Then John saw a great battle picture in heaven: a woman gave birth to a son who will rule all the nations, and a great red dragon tried to hurt the child. Michael and his angels fought the dragon and threw him down. A loud voice sang that God's people win because of the Lamb's blood. That child is Jesus, and His blood helps His people win over the dragon.
