Today’s story

Zechariah sees God dwelling among His people and the high priest Joshua cleansed from filthy garments. God removes guilt and promises His coming Branch.

Revelation exposes beastly powers that demand worship and deceive the world. God’s people are called to endurance and faithfulness.

David asks God to guard his mouth, protect his heart from evil, and make correction welcome. Proverb Summary Some things are wonderfully mysterious; wisdom remains humble before what it cannot fully explain. Discover Jesus Joshua’s cleansing points straight to the gospel: Jesus removes our filthy garments, clothes us in righteousness, and keeps us faithful when false powers demand allegiance. Reflect What voice most pressures me to compromise my loyalty to Jesus? Fellowship Ask one another: What helps us remain faithful when culture rewards compromise?

The story in children’s words

Zechariah saw a man measuring Jerusalem, but God said the city would grow so full of people and animals that it would need no walls. "I myself will be a wall of fire around her," said God, "and I will live in her middle." Then Joshua the priest stood before God's angel in dirty clothes, and Satan stood there to accuse him. God said, "Take the dirty clothes off him. I have taken your sin away," and they dressed Joshua in clean, rich clothes. God promised to bring His servant, the Branch. Then John saw a scary beast rise from the sea, and people of the earth bowed to it and took its mark. But God's people belong to the Lamb, whose names are written in His book of life. Jesus is the Branch God promised, and He makes His people clean like Joshua's new clothes.
