Today’s story

Malachi confronts halfhearted worship, corrupt leadership, and covenant unfaithfulness. God deserves honor, not leftovers.

John sees a new heaven and new earth, the holy city descending, God dwelling with His people, and death, mourning, crying, and pain gone forever.

God’s people praise their Maker and rejoice in their King. Proverb Summary Proverbs celebrates a woman of strength, wisdom, diligence, generosity, foresight, and faithful stewardship. Discover Jesus Revelation 21 brings the Bible’s great circle into view: what was lost through sin is restored in Christ. God dwells with His people, and Jesus makes all things new. Reflect Am I giving Jesus my first and best, or what remains after everything else? Fellowship What part of Revelation 21 do you most long to see fulfilled?

The story in children’s words

Malachi began with God's own words: "I have loved you." But the priests gave God poor, hurt animals as gifts, as if He were not a great King, and God's people were unkind and unfaithful to each other. God said His name would be great among all the nations, even when His own people did not honor Him. Then John saw the best ending of all. He saw a new heaven and a new earth, and the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God like a bride dressed for her husband. A loud voice said, "God's home is now with His people. He will live with them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more crying, and no more pain." The city needs no sun, for God and the Lamb are its light, and only those written in the Lamb's book of life will enter in. Jesus, the Lamb, makes all things new.
