Today’s story

God gives detailed instructions for the Tabernacle, where His presence would dwell among His people. Every curtain, board, altar, and furnishing follows God's design. The bronze altar reminds Israel that sacrifice is necessary before sinful people can draw near to a holy God.

Jesus tells the parables of the ten virgins and the talents. His followers are called to remain prepared for the Bridegroom's arrival and to use faithfully what their Master has entrusted to them until He returns.

David takes refuge in the Lord and entrusts his life to God, his rock, fortress, and faithful deliverer. Proverb Summary Wisdom calls openly to everyone. Her instruction is more valuable than silver or gold because God's wisdom leads into truth, righteousness, and life. Discover Jesus The Tabernacle pointed forward to a greater reality. Jesus is God's perfect dwelling among His people. He is the true Tabernacle, the perfect sacrifice, and the way into the Father's presence. While awaiting His return, we are called to live wisely and faithfully for His glory. Everything in today's reading points to Jesus. Reflect How are you using the gifts, opportunities, and resources God has entrusted to you? If Jesus returned today, would He find you faithfully serving Him with joy? Fellowship Discuss one gift God has given each person. Encourage one another to use those gifts to build up Christ's body and serve others.

The story in children’s words

God showed Moses exactly how to build His special tent. The curtains were woven with blue, purple, and red thread, and golden angels were stitched into them. A special curtain hung in front of the most holy place, where God's golden box would rest. Outside was a bronze altar and a big yard around the tent. The priests had to keep the lamp filled with oil so its light would never go out. Jesus told a story about ten girls waiting for a wedding, but only the wise ones brought extra oil for their lamps. When the bridegroom came at midnight, only the ready girls went in. Jesus teaches us to keep our hearts ready and shining for Him.
