The story in children’s words

The workers finished Aaron's beautiful clothes, with a golden crown that said "Holy to the LORD." Moses checked all the work, and it was done just as God commanded. Then they set up God's tent, and God's bright cloud covered it. God's glory filled the tent so full that Moses could not even go inside! Whenever the cloud lifted, the people traveled, and when it rested, they camped. Many years later, John the Baptist called people to be baptized and get ready for God's Son. Jesus was baptized, and God's voice from heaven said, "You are My beloved Son." Jesus began telling everyone the good news and healing people. Jesus is God's Son, and God's glory lives in Him.

It points to Jesus

Exodus ends with God's glory filling the Tabernacle. Then Mark begins by announcing Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The connection is powerful. God desired to dwell among His people. In Jesus, God comes even closer. Jesus doesn't simply point toward God's presence. He brings God's presence to us. And His invitation is beautifully simple: “Follow me.”

Talk about it

Ask one another: What does following Jesus look like in everyday life?
