The story in children’s words
God spoke to Moses from His tent and taught the people how to bring gifts to Him. A person could bring a bull, a sheep, a goat, or even two little birds, and it had to be perfect, with nothing wrong with it. The person laid a hand on the animal's head, and the gift was burned on the altar as a sweet smell to God. People could also bring gifts of flour and oil, and peace gifts to say thank you to God. Long after, Jesus healed Peter's wife's mother, and she got up and served everyone. Crowds of sick people came to Jesus, and He made them well. Four friends lowered a man who could not walk through a roof to Jesus, and Jesus forgave his sins and made him walk. Jesus is the perfect gift God gave for our sins.
It points to Jesus
The sacrifices of Leviticus prepare us to understand the cross. Jesus is the spotless One who gives Himself for sinners, and He is the One with authority to forgive.
