The story in children’s words

Sometimes God's people sinned without even meaning to. God made a way for them to be forgiven. Whether it was the priest, a leader, or an ordinary person, they brought an animal with nothing wrong with it as a sin offering. Even a poor person could bring a little flour, because God wanted everyone to be able to come to Him. The priest offered the gift, and God forgave them. In Jesus' time, He called a tax collector named Levi to follow Him, and He ate dinner with people everyone else looked down on. Jesus said, "I came to call sinners, not people who think they are already good." Jesus welcomes sinners and forgives them, just like God always wanted to do.

It points to Jesus

Leviticus exposes guilt; Jesus comes directly to guilty people. He does not approve of sin - He calls sinners to Himself so they can be forgiven and changed.

Talk about it
