The story in children’s words

Moses dressed Aaron and his sons in their priest clothes and poured holy oil on Aaron's head. The whole family of Israel watched at the door of God's tent. Aaron made the offerings just as God commanded. Moses told the people, "Today the LORD will appear to you." Jesus' mother and brothers came looking for Him, and Jesus said something surprising. He said that anyone who does what God wants is His brother, sister, and mother. Jesus told a story about a farmer who scattered seed. Some seed fell on the path, some on rocks, some among thorns, and some on good soil, where it grew tall and strong. Jesus wants our hearts to be like good soil, ready to hear God's word and grow.

It points to Jesus

The priests point forward to Jesus, our perfect High Priest. The seed of God’s Word points us to the condition of our hearts: hearing is not enough; the Word must take root and bear fruit.
