The story in children’s words

God said that every gift brought to His altar had to be perfect, with nothing wrong with it. A hurt or sick animal was not good enough for God. God also gave His people a calendar of happy holy days through the year. There was the weekly Sabbath rest, the Passover feast, the feast of first fruits, the feast of weeks, the feast of trumpets, the special day of cleansing, and the feast of booths, when families lived in little shelters to remember the desert journey. Jesus told His friends again that He would be killed and would rise on the third day. When they argued about who was the greatest, Jesus put a little child in front of them. He said the greatest person is the one who serves everyone else. Jesus welcomed little children, and He welcomes us too.
