The story in children’s words

Moses told how God had been with Israel for all forty years in the desert, and they had lacked nothing. God would not let them take the lands He had given to Esau's family or to Lot's family. But God gave them victory over King Sihon and over King Og of Bashan, who was a giant with a huge iron bed. Moses asked to cross the Jordan and see the good land. God said no, but let him look at it from a mountain, and told him to make Joshua strong and brave. In the New Testament, Jesus prayed all night on a mountain. Then He chose twelve helpers called apostles. Jesus taught the crowds that God blesses the poor and the hungry who trust Him. He said to love our enemies, do good, and be merciful, just like our Father. Jesus is the greatest helper God ever chose, and He teaches us His Father's kind ways.
