Day 192 · July 9
Kids Corner — Day 192
1 Chronicles 11:1–12:18 · Acts 28:1–31 · Psalm 9:1–12 · Proverbs 19:1–3
Today’s story
David is recognized as king, and mighty men gather around him. God is establishing the kingdom He promised.
Paul reaches Rome and continues proclaiming God’s Kingdom and teaching about Jesus. Acts ends with the gospel still moving.
God is a refuge for the oppressed and remembers those who seek Him.
Integrity is worth more than wealth; foolish choices can distort our path.
The story in children’s words
All Israel came to David at Hebron and said, "You shall be shepherd of God's people." They made David king, and David took the strong city of Jerusalem, and God was with him and made him greater and greater. Brave men stood with David, and one time three of them risked their lives to bring him water from Bethlehem, but David poured it out as an offering to God instead of drinking it. Paul's ship reached an island, where the people were very kind, and Paul healed the sick who came to him. At last Paul reached Rome, and for two whole years he welcomed everyone who came to him. With a guard beside him and a chain on his arm, Paul kept preaching God's kingdom and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ, and no one stopped him.
It points to Jesus
Acts ends without ending the mission. The risen Jesus continues His work through ordinary believers who carry the gospel forward.
