Day 275 · September 30
Kids Corner — Day 275
Isaiah 66:1–24 · Philippians 3:4–21 · Psalm 74:1–23 · Proverbs 24:15–16
Today’s story
Isaiah closes with God looking favorably on the humble person who trembles at His word. Judgment and worldwide worship stand side by side as God's story moves toward its final fulfillment.
Paul counts his impressive credentials as loss compared with knowing Christ. He presses toward the goal and reminds believers that their citizenship is in heaven as they await the Savior.
Amid devastation, the psalmist asks God to remember His covenant and defend His cause.
The righteous may fall repeatedly, but by God's grace they rise again.
The story in children’s words
God said heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool, so no house people build can hold Him. He looks kindly on the humble person who trembles at His word. He promised to comfort Jerusalem like a mother comforts her child, and to give her peace like a river. One day He will gather people from all nations to see His glory, and His new heavens and new earth will last forever. Paul said that all his proud achievements were worth nothing next to knowing Christ. He pressed on toward the goal, forgetting what was behind. Our true home, he said, is in heaven, where we wait for our Savior. That Savior is Jesus, who will change our weak bodies to be like His glorious body.
It points to Jesus
September ends with the right ambition: know Christ. Isaiah looks toward worldwide worship; Paul looks toward the returning Savior who will transform His people. The journey is not about religious achievement. It is about Jesus.
