The story in children’s words
God called a young man named Jeremiah to be His prophet. Jeremiah said, "I am only a child; I do not know how to speak." But God touched his mouth and said, "I knew you before you were born. Do not be afraid, for I am with you." God showed him an almond branch and a boiling pot tipping from the north, signs that trouble was coming because the people had left God. They had traded God, the spring of living water, for broken wells that hold no water. Paul told God's people to rejoice always, to pray instead of worrying, and to think about things that are true and good and lovely. He said, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Jesus gives His people the same strength and peace He gave Paul.
It points to Jesus
Discover Jesus Jeremiah is sent with God’s words; Jesus is the Word made flesh. Jeremiah exposes forsaken living water; Jesus gives living water that truly satisfies. In Philippians, the life centered on Christ receives peace, strength, and contentment. Reflect What am I asking something other than Christ to give me that only He can provide? Fellowship Share one truth from today’s reading that helps you see Jesus more clearly. Ask how that truth should change the way you live today.
