The story in children’s words
God's people had forgotten Him and run after idols made of wood and stone, even though He had loved them and led them like a faithful husband. Still God called out, "Return to me! I am merciful, and I will not be angry forever. Only say you are sorry, and I will heal you." He promised to give them shepherds after His own heart. Paul thanked God for believers whose faith and love were growing, and he prayed they would know God more and more. Then Paul said something wonderful: Jesus is the image of the invisible God, and by Him all things were made, in heaven and on earth. God rescued us from darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His dear Son, Jesus, who forgives our sins.
