Today’s story
Israel complains in the wilderness, yet God remains faithful. He makes bitter water sweet, sends manna and quail, and provides water from the rock. God teaches His people to depend upon Him one day at a time.
Jesus tells the parable of the wedding banquet and answers challenges about taxes and the resurrection. He exposes traps and false assumptions while pointing people back to God's truth and authority.
David declares that the Lord is his light, salvation, and stronghold. His greatest desire is to dwell in God's presence and behold His beauty.

The story in children’s words
After crossing the sea, God's people walked in the desert, and Miriam led the women in singing and dancing. The people were thirsty, and God made bitter water sweet. Then they were hungry, so God sent bread from heaven, called manna, every morning, and birds called quail in the evening. God gave extra bread on the sixth day so they could rest on the seventh. Later, God made water pour out of a rock when Moses hit it. Jesus told a story about a king's wedding party, where everyone was invited to come in. God invites everyone to His table too, and Jesus is the door to the feast.
